Telescopio Nazionale Galileo 30th anniversary

The Telescopio Nazionale Galileo turns 30!
I visited La Palma observatory in Canary Islands last July to create a commemorative poster for this special celebration.

"From 22 to 24 September 2026, the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo celebrated its 30th anniversary with three special days in La Palma, bringing together people, science and stories that have shaped three decades of astronomy at the telescope.
At the summit of the island of La Palma, at an altitude of nearly 2,400 meters, the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory enjoys one of the darkest and clearest skies in the Northern Hemisphere. Here, the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo has been observing the universe since 1996; with its 3.58-meter mirror, it is the largest optical and infrared telescope in Italian astronomy.
Thirty years of people, technology, collaboration and curiosity about the Universe ... and the journey continues."
