cea 80th anniversary

The CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) is a major French public research organization, created in 1945.
Nuclear energy, medicine, digital technology, space, defense, climate, solar energy, electronics… Since its creation, the CEA has made major scientific discoveries and technological innovations possible. These have helped to meet the major challenges of the last eight decades and have permanently transformed our daily lives.

To celebrate this 80th anniversary, I was commissioned to create a mural illustrating its main advances and innovations in scientific and technological research.
The final artwork is now exhibited on a large scale (3 x 2 m) at each CEA site in France.

“Le cea sous le crayon de lapin.”

“Lapin has captured the cea's sites and major facilities in his sketchbook, creating this original composition that reflects the organization's history and the breadth of its research areas.

Want to learn more? Lapin explains everything.

The complete artwork can be explored through this interactive exploration.”
